Blue Dragon Review - Xbox 360

One of many of the japanese RPG’s that have flowed to the US shore in the last few months for the Xbox 360.  We have very high hopes for this game being one of many of the RPGs that did come out. That made it to the US. We can cross our fingers it’s better then enchanted arms?  Time to find out!

:: Basic Game ::

The Game starts as a Little Boy and his friend in a Very tight Village Who are suddenly Thrown in to the heat of battle When a Machine called a Land Shark comes to the town and starts terrorizing them and Destroying they’re homes and Farms. When the Family’s Run for covers in the Hills (Shu) That’s The Leader And His 2 Friends (Jiro) , (Kluke) That’s When The Action Starts When the Shark attacks your Thrown into battle with it and End up In a Huge Mine Shaft Far far from home. That’s when the adventure Really Kicks off.

:: Game Play ::

It’s a Cross between Final Fantasy meets Zelda . The Combat system Plays Much like of Final fantasy  It’s Very sleek Plays Very. Basic attack , Power attack (With an elemental Effect Such as Fire , ice , water , Shadow , wind , earth )  Then you Can choose items and Accessory’s To equip to the Team members. Teach member Has a Shadow That’s basically like out of body Magic And allows Classics Such as Monk , Assassin , Warrior , Genealogist , Healer , and Elementalist . The game play is Very solid a Lot of Killing smaller class of animals such as Poop Snake very oddly Looking ghosts and monsters. The game plays a lot like Final fantasy / Zelda style when you Run around you explore find treasure and then when monsters pop you can attack or they find you and Battle starts.

 :: Graphics ::

This Game was done by the Creator of Final fantasy then the Artist behind The Dragon ball Z Franchise. At first it looks Very kiddish But so did Zelda the wind walker and Zelda Phantom hourglass. After about 15 Min’s in the game you will See the art style total fits the game very well. With the Look Just making it pop off the screen. Perfectly Rendered Animation and Cut scene’s. Once you progress in the game the levels Look So Much better the deeper you go in the game the world is Massive When your Roaming the levels the game looks Alright… But when you go to a battle WOW the game really shines  Animations are well done especially on the Heroes. Animations done on the enemy’s Are OK in some aspect They work… But One thing i did notice.  Like the bear … He Puts you to sleep… Lays down and sleeps him self … Repeats this None stop… Very Stupid like it’s a Broken animation and AI. Other then that The game Looks Really good Especially For a New title on the 360 And really shows the 360 can and Should have some Japanese and Chinese titles because This game Looks Hot!

:: Sound ::

What can i say the sound is almost nailed. voice acting is top natch. The tree , the wind rushing past. The effect sounds when you activate fire and water all sound really well. Only thing i thought was a bit off was when your in the big capital city Jebri is the birds sound funny when they fly away. Other then that sound is really well done.

:: Final Thoughts ::

I really enjoyed this game I’m still working back unlocking everything.  This game is at least a 30 hour game and then you can go back and always unlock everything. Lots of content , lots of side quests. plus with the DLC coming out this game is always getting some love. one of the games I’m proud to say i paid the full 60$ for because it’s a really fun and great game plays well and is just a lot of fun. and the humor in the acting is just great. if it wasn’t for the little audio with the birds and the kinda bad graphics when you roam the area’s this game is an easy perfect score it’s just that kinda game now i can see why so many of the Japanese gamers picked it up.
