Two worlds - Xbox 360 - Review

This was one of those games were EA seen oblivion and thought they could one up the competitors let’s see if this thing stacks up verse well with the other RPGs on the Xbox 360.

Basics:

You’re thrown in to a story about a taint and your family and your sister is kidnapped and it’s your job to take care of business and take some names doing it. About the same as most of the major rpgs thrown in to the mix and a huge world to explore.

Game play:

You are thrown in to this oblivion style world with a massive area to roam with tons of stuff to kill wolfs and dragons and trolls. It plays a little like oblivion had a retarded little brother who fell down the stairs. I’m not trying to be harsh but this game has some major issues and bugs. The game has an issue of locking up often. Riding a horse is near imposable you ride it the horse doesn’t respond to any changes you make to try and slow him down he runs right in to objects (Trees , Rocks , buildings) then get stuck in the object making it worse-less. The Skill system Plays a lot like oblivion but worse. you have to earn each point used to upgrade the skills or buy the skills from people in town (If the NPC is actually in the town ) Combat, Let’s see the game pauses every time you go and make a kill so if you’re in battle with lots of people such as a horde of trolls and you’re doing good the game will pause for 2/3 seconds and you’ll just die or if you’re lucky you can run away. The game hick-ups every time you get in an area with lots of trees and animals which is pretty much the whole game. The game’s visuals will slow down and become really annoying during big battles or when you’re going in to areas with a lot of foliage.

Graphics :

The game looks pretty good but the slow down issues with the game engine is just lame you think because EA seen oblivion and how great it looked they could of at least made their knock off run at a good stable fps. Some areas look great nice lighting and such… but the areas all look the same from north to south the areas look pretty much exactly the same except for when you get near the desert and the orc area then it becomes a lot different. If it wasn’t for the major graphic hick-ups like trees and the ground and animals walking up trees. And maybe a stable fps it could of been such a better to go up verses oblivion and the other RPGS on the market now days.

Sound :

The sound is pretty good you hear birds and wolfs howling gives it a good feel. then the audio from the villagers is pretty good. but then it comes to the hero… that’s were EA drops the ball the heroes dialog is just stupid some of the stuff he says makes nonsense. Whoever the actor is didn’t put much feeling in to it because it feels empty. felt like just putting the game on mute and playing it that’s what i did and it made it play so much better.

AI:

The ai is really basic but it’s an RPG but still it could be so much better. such as when you’re walking down trails your being attacked by wolfs and reapers and dragons. In town the AI is pretty bright you steal they see you the whole town will turn on you and attack you.

Final Thoughts:

This game has so many issues from dodgy audio to locking up a ton & none stop pausing from the game fps drooping. the game is EA’s knock off of oblivion and it wasn’t even a great knockoff not even close it does come with multiplayer but after playing it for a few minutes or a few hours you’ll never play it online much the game is bug ridden from the horse getting stock in every. Killing an enemy and their bodies twitch in to items and fall through the world. The world at one point started twitching out. If you’re looking for an RPG go with oblivion hands down this game has so many issues EA has never addressed the games been out for about 2 years now you think ea would have patched it yet. but it’s so far from being fixed. this game is priced about the same as oblivion i would hands down get oblivion it out shined this game in every category. and without the locking up and glitches. The story isn’t anything fancy most of the time it was annoying dialog from a hero that you can’t connect with and feel like you’re this fantasy world. The Map system and navigation is Terrible Hard to find your quests. Personally i would pick up oblivion and stick far from EA’s abomination two worlds. Another franchise EA tried to rip off?
